Facebook is a great Social Networking Site to promote your blog or brand. Most of the major brands do have a Facebook Fan Page. Here are some examples of Facebook Fan pages – Coca Cola FB Fan Page , Mashable FB Fan Page. Are you impressed and want to create one for your blog? I too wanted to create one and i finally made it. Here is the link of my Facebook Fan Page . So lets start making our own Facebook Fan Page for our blog.
1.Go to the Create Fan Page Link on Facebook and select Brand or Product
Choose Website from the drop down list and provide the Page name in the next box. Read and agree to the terms and click the “Get Started” button.
2.On the Next Page, Upload an Image for your Fan Page
3.Once you have added the image, you can edit the fan page information by clicking on the “Edit Page” link as in the image below
Edit the fan page information and Save the Changes.
4. Now your Fan Page has been properly set up.If you want, you can automatically post your blog posts to Facebook. There are multiple ways to do it. I'm specifying one of them here
Using the RSS Graffiti Application
a. Go to http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti/ and authorize RSS Graffiti
b. Once authorized, you will see a list of your Fan Pages on the left.Click on the Fan Page Name
Now authorize RSS Graffiti(second authorization for your fan page) to access your Fan Page
Once authorized, Click on the Add Feed Button, and enter your Feed Url.
If your blog is http://blogname.blogspot.com, then your Feed Url will be http://blogname.blogspot.com/rss.xml
here I have used http://www.bloggerplugins.org/rss.xml as my feed url.. Click the link which says “click here to fetch and preview” and see if its grabbing your blog feed.(If its not grabbing your feed, then check if you have enabled the Blog Feeds. If your blog is not on blogger, then your feed url will be different.).
Now Go to the Filter Tab and click on the Change link next to the Cut-off date/time . Choose the last post(oldest one) from the drop down. and click the Save button.
It may take some time for your posts to appear on your Fan Page Wall(your latest 25 posts). From now on every new post that you make will be automatically posted to your Fan Page’s Wall. There might be some delay in the wall getting updated, as RSS Graffiti checks the feed for new entries at regular time intervals.(If you want to post to your profile Wall as well, then in RSS Graffiti, click on your name and add the feed there as well)
Getting a Better Fan Page URL
Your Fan Page URL will look something like http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blogger-Widgets/252379165362 .Now if you have a pretty good number of fans(i think the minimum requirement is 25 fans) , then you can have a pretty Facebook URL like http://www.facebook.com/bloggerplugins instead of a long one like http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blogger-Widgets/252379165362 .
To claim such small usernames for your Facebook page, go to http://www.facebook.com/username/ and Click on Set a username for your Pages. There you can select the small pretty user name for your fan page.Once you opt for a user name you can’t change it back again. So be careful when choosing your Facebook Fan Page Username.
Getting More Fans
So you just created a new Fan Page with no fans. To get more fans, you can try adding a Like Box to your blog. This will allow Facebook users to “Like” your Fan Page directly from your blog. To add a Fan Box refer the following tutorial
1. Facebook Like/Fan Box For Blogger
You can get more Fans, by telling your Friends about your Fan Page. In the Get Started Tab of your Fan Page, you will see an option to invite your Friends
Hope you get more Fans on your Fan Page. Happy Facebooking..
If you think that this tutorial helped you out in making a better Fan Page, then consider being my Fan by clicking on this Like Box Below.

ReplyDelete@Adlous,
ReplyDeleteok.. you should be using a pretty URL for your facebook page instead of the long one.. Read step 9 once again :)
Gr8 i was waiting for this article
ReplyDeleteNice tutorial. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this -- do you know if there is a way to automatically update your fan page with blog entries, but then link to the blog, rather than creating a note of the whole posting? I'd like to drive traffic to my blog, and not allow people to read the whole post on FB. Thanks!
This is really cool, but before I import the blog posts I have a question. I have one my feeds set up to just show a pragraph and then the visitor has to click the blgo title to go see the post. Do you know if the links work once these are imported? They aren't working in the preview, so I'm afraid to hit import. Also, my other blog feed has the entire post in the feed. I don't want the full posts on facebook, I want people to click over to my blog. Should I just continue posting manually? Thoughts?
ReplyDelete@geogeo,
ReplyDeleteinstead of typing in your blog url in the import box, type in http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary .In this case only post summaries will be imported, and at the bottom of the Summary note, you will get a link like "View Original Post" . You won't see this in the import preview.
@Amanda, i guess that i answered your question.. you can also import your twitter RSS feed into the notes application which will display your tweets as facebook notes..
Perfect, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you very very much !
ReplyDeleteYOur blog is really coll and priceless articles. I have linked wioth you:)
ReplyDeletevisit: http://hacktutors.blogspot.com/2009/10/adding-unique-background-image-to.html

i have imported the blog to facebook ,but the videos are not getting imported in facebook page
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your help and guidance Aneesh on adding a Face-book Fan Page and so simply outlined it is great to read articles that explain how, what and the way.
ReplyDeleteWill add it to my blogger page at http://googlelightnews.blogspot.com/ and share all your articles, adding details of Creative Commons Licensing to each post.
Regards - Ian
Fantastic! Really helped me with promoting my blog beforethebigday.blogpsot.com on my Facebook page. Thank you! I'm off to check out your other widget suggestions now! xG

ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Finally a post that is up-to-date. Wish Facebook didn't hide this feature for fan page creators..
ReplyDeletemerhaba
ReplyDeletethank you very much.....
ReplyDeleteNever knew that Facebook's fan page community, has an option to import blog posts through Notes. Wonder why Fb is hiding this option from public view.
ReplyDeleteThanks for throwing some light on it, Aneesh.
Aneesh, thanks for this information...however, i do want to have some link like yours on the upper right sidebar of your page 'Follow me on Facebook, Be my Fan' but I can't seem to figure out how to do such...Please help me...Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info... Very easy to follow...
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot but the rss importing doesnt work.
ReplyDeleteI keep getting this message:
ReplyDeleteImport Failed
We couldn't find a feed using the URL you provided.
Why would that be, and how can I fix it?
Thanks 4 shared !
ReplyDeleteIt's very useful
Thank you very much Very useful
ReplyDeletehi HAPPY TO SEE YOUR BLOG...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. It worked great, part from that it imported my last 25 blogposts. :-S
ReplyDeleteWhen I first add my blog to my fan page, it shows 3 blog posts but then after I exit the fan page and return, only 1 post shows. Is there a way to set the number of posts that show on the fan page? All the blog posts appear in the NOTES box but not on the fan page.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! Thanks for your help. I used the /summary feed so that just a summary of the posts show in FB. Was wondering if there is a setting to also include a picture from the post instead of just the heading.
ReplyDeleteI'm still confused there is a good reading not to manage the blog let me see .. well thank you
ReplyDeleteHahaha, it's working
ReplyDeleteThanks for your info
very helpfully
God bless you
I just succesfully imoprt my blog. But, when i write new blogpost, why its not imported at first place in Facebook? Old posts is first and my new post last?
ReplyDelete@All,
ReplyDeleteFacebook had removed the "Promote with Fan Box" link and replaced it with "Promote with Ad". But they still have the Fan box option elsewhere.. So the instructions in the post has been updated.
"Heather" You are an absolute legend! I couldn't work out whay my business' Facebook Fan Page suddenly stopped importing my blog. It had been working fine for months and then all of a sudden it just stopped working and I got the message "We couldn't find a feed using the URL you provided". I tried using the "feed://" and hey presto it's up and running again. Thanks!
ReplyDeletegood one. I will try this, thanks alot
ReplyDeleteAneesh I think it still has the promote with fan box option as I just did that for my blog
ReplyDelete@S Malik
ReplyDeleteactually i had updated the instuctions according to the changes in facebook :) That comment was for those who saw my old set of instructions :)
Excellent post and writing style. Bookmarked.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. Quick techie question though, when I try to import my blog I keep getting errors. It either says it can't find a URL feed or it says that the URL I provided doesn't have any data. Obviously there's data so I'm not quite sure how to fix this. Any thoughts? The blog is http://campingwithcars.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Ok, I apologize, I just read above about the feed://. I tried it and I'm still getting the errors. I'm not quite sure what you mean by an atom feed page though. I just changed http:// to feed://. Is there more that needs to be done to make it work? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just frustrated and am not that technically savvy when it comes to stuff like this!
ReplyDeleteThank you Aneesh!! That did the trick. I appreciate the help and thanks for the blog information. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, one final question... my blog imported but it's only showing up in the notes section, not on the wall. If I try to share it, it shares on my personal profile, not on my fan page. Do you have any tips for getting it to show up there? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteQuick question...when I write a post to my blog (which I have already successfully imported to Facebook) it is very delayed in posting to my facebook page. I'm talking like 6-12 hours delayed...any suggestions out there for an immediate feed?
ReplyDeleteI tried everything mentioned here, to import my blog www.billyworm.blogspot.com but nothing works...neither the rss nor the atom feed! Please help!
ReplyDeleteNever mind, the exact same thing worked 2 minutes after that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help. When I tried importing the blog into the FB fan page, there were hiccups as it would just not find the feed. It could be a mere superstition but I figured out this- if you failed to click on the disclaimer and let it flash the message to "check the box" before hitting save... the next time you click on the box and save, it'll do it.
ReplyDeleteI get the same failure to import message as everyone else. I've tried it all...even feedburner, to no avail.
ReplyDeleteThanks a billion. You don't have any idea how much this post have helped me. I was looking for ages to get that facebook notes thingy work. Just thanks :-)
ReplyDelete@El Chauvinis - i haven't ever had any such problems. Did you try providing your blog feed url? i mean something like http://yourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
ReplyDeleteHi Aneesh,
ReplyDeleteOne more thing, how do you install the share buttons like the ones you have at the end of the post. Do you have a post describing it. Thanks in advance. :-)
@rationalbeing - not yet. will be here within a week :)
ReplyDeleteBest tutorial Gr8 very help full Thank u very much
ReplyDeleteThanks! It really helped me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this information ! this is what im looking for !
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. This post was really helpful!
ReplyDeleteLike Kristen said above I have tried various URL's they work but I have not seen one blog post get carried over to FB yet. I wait 2-3 hours try another feed URL on facebook and updates are not coming over.
ReplyDeletehow can i get to have a follow me on facebook link for my blog?
ReplyDelete@Bea - you can add a profile badget from http://www.facebook.com/facebook-widgets/
ReplyDeleteHi - I managed to connect the blog to my Facebook page thanks to this post.
ReplyDeleteHowever, now it shows up also on my personal profile page. How do I stop that?
I want the blog posts to be seen only in Notes on the Business Page.
Thanks,
-Deven
thanks for this update! other sites that mentioned how to add your blog to the fanpage never mentioned to click on the NOTES and full part.
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this tutorial! I just created my page, I can't wait until I can get a custom Facebook URL.
ReplyDeleteput how can i take me name for example my blog name iwoork
ReplyDeletehow can do it
will it take money ??
ReplyDeleteHi Aneesh, thanks for the nice post.
ReplyDeleteQuick question (needs a quick answer also please:)):
why on the FB Page only show the excerpt of the blog's article not the whole article? Mine, the FB Page only takes paragraph before 'read more'. How to fix it please?
thanks.
@Fajar - Are your Blog Feeds set to Short? Goto Blogger >Settings >Site Feed and change Blog Posts Feed to Full
ReplyDeletethis was the BEST description by far! thank you thank you thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have saved this in my bookmarks. After 2 months of searching. I finally decided to type my question in the same way and voila, you popped up for the first time. My blog is streaming in awesome now. You rock. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks i have added my blog url but now i want to add http://myblog.com/feeds/posts/summary . can i edit, how?
ReplyDeleteI have also written on this
ReplyDeleteI have tried your steps to add the fan box to my blog, but it won't happen! What is the secret? I put all the right stuff in the code and when I upload it to my blog, it puts a little square of my news feed page. GRRRRRRRR! HELP
ReplyDeleteI can get my blog get in there initially, but I can't get new posts to show up.
ReplyDeleteGreat instructions! Even for those of us that are a little computer challenged! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Gina
What is the propper page type for blogs? community is not bec will be adopted.
ReplyDeletehey thanx for this post!its working for my celebrity jewelry blog http://jewelriver.blogspot.com. hope this increases my blog traffic.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, this post is a little outdated. My Fan box quit working yesterday because Facebook switched it over to a Like box instead. So, I go back into my account and get the new code to put on my site, and it still won't come up. Between Disqus and Facebook, I've had nothing but problems lately. Neither work any longer. I don't know if it has anything to do with with the new templates or what, but it's driving me crazy. Hope you do something on these soon.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the like button works...woo hoo!
Hi I've done this, but the fan page doesn't display correctly on my blog. It just just says in small BSR Properties on facebook, but it doesnt show any fans or anything else? What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, you made too many things easier for me.
ReplyDeletenice tahanx ilove it
ReplyDeleteNo, this does NOT work. I followed your guide, but the fan box on my blogger page only shows text info, and there are no fans with images etc. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteAwesome tutorial! TenQ very much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the instructions!! I have added this widget to my blog - Regards! LJP
ReplyDeleteHmmm it all worked except that important part, importing the blog posts I already have. It said no new blog posts could be found.
ReplyDeletewww.melbournemarathon.blogspot.com
thanks nice tutorial.....
ReplyDeleteSuperb article.... just wonderful. I never knew that this is so easy.
ReplyDeleteThanks a ton for making this that easy.
Is there a way that I can transfer the friends on facebook profile to the page?
ReplyDeleteHey thanks for sharing. I would liek you to have a look at this page and enlighten me if possible on how every post they make is like a new page on facebook. ITs got me into thinking (P.s i m not much of a techie just know basics) http://loljokes.net/joke/13462/
ReplyDeleteExample a friend liked this page: and it shows:
SK likes Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats. on facebook likes. ·
Here the "facebook likes" has link to a page which is not on facebok but has layout like facebok.
Thanks please I need to know how they are doing this.
Thanks!
Thanks
Hello, Aneesh! I have created a facebook page for my blog but though all the posts appear in full in the preview, they don't show up anywhere after I hit the 'confirm import' button. I waited for days and nothing. Your help would be valuable! Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteAfter finishing the steps in the article, the hyperlink for note title does NOT links to my original blog directly. The readers have to click "View Original Post", then go to my blog.
ReplyDeleteHow can I do if I want the note links to my blog like your page?
I tried everything, nothing works, it would just not find the feed. Period :(((
ReplyDeletehttp://kiabakarisnippets.blogspot.com
Hey!!
ReplyDeleteI tried this and it worked, Thanks for the tutorial.
I was able to get all the existing posts..
but my new posts are not coming up automatically...
Should I repeat the process of importing blog every time I there is a new post in my blog??
@SpeakingSoul - no need to import again. the post wont appear on the Fan Page as soon as its posted. It will take some time for the post to appear on the Fan Page.Give it a day.
ReplyDeleteOk thanks mate!! and thanks for the prompt reply!!
ReplyDeleteCheers!!
Hi Aneesh ..
ReplyDeleteIts been 5 days since I had a new post in my Blogger account and that has not reflected in my face book page.. Shud i consider doing something to make it appear on the FB fan page??
Thx, so helpfull.. But I have a lil problem here. When I created my fanpage on FB, I was already sign in with my other FB id, and now my fanpage look like use & mix with that other ID.. how can I separate it? should I make another new ID on FB and restart again from begining?
ReplyDeleteI tried this a few times and kept getting it wrong so finding your 'How to' has been great.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Very helpful information, now i implemented it on my blog, looks pretty good,
ReplyDeleteCheck it out for your self if you like www.curiousfacts.net
Hi,
ReplyDeleteFirst, i have imported http://myblog.blogspot.com but later i've read the comments and i imported http://myblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/summary
Now, i am afraid that it will import the complete post and its summary. If so, how can i fix this?
Thnks
Thank you for the post. I like it because I will be now able to drive more traffic to my blog by this method isha Allah!
ReplyDeletethanks a lot :)
ReplyDeletehelpful for me :)
thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHow do I delete my imported blog? I'm not satisfied with the "note" or blog that I imported on my fan page and want to remove it. Is this possible????
ReplyDeletei keep getting this error:
ReplyDelete"Sorry, an error has occurred.
We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can."
After i try to import notes.
Anyone getting this? is this a fb glitch? is there any way around it?
Got the tutorial and it is quite easy...but the hyperlink for note title does NOT links to my original blog directly...how to solve this?
ReplyDeleteHello again, even though I was successful (back in January), I continued to have problems. I stopped trying to feed My Facebook page with Notes and am now using dlvr.it (http://dlvr.it). It always works, its free, and you can send RSS feeds to Facebook pages, Twitter... check it out.
ReplyDeletewhen I click on start importing..Import fails.
ReplyDeleteImport Failed
We couldn't find a feed using the URL you provided.
can you please tell me where is the problem.
URL I am giving is http://yogi-collection.blogspot.com
both with and without /feeds/posts/default.
Both are not working.
can you please e-mail me the solution.
Im having the same problem as Yogesh. i have tried my blog with the ".blogspot" and without it, and with the "/feeds/posts/default" and without. so far nothing doing. this is getting really anoying. can anyone help please?
ReplyDeletealso @Heather it would seem from all the comments after your post that ur idea was brilliant. if you could share it with me that would be great. i didnt understand what you meant and how you got to a site that started with "feed//:" or whatever it was that you found
Create a Facebook Fan Page for your Blog......... very interesting post.....really I like it very much......great job .......
ReplyDeleteI also have this problems... a lil difficulty here. When I shaped my fanpage on FB, I was previously sign in with my other FB id, and now my fanpage look like use & mix with that other ID.. how can I disconnect it? should I make another new ID on FB and start again again from begining?
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI've also tried everything here:
http://luxuryhaven.blogspot.com
http://luxuryhaven.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
http://feeds.feedburner.com/WelcomeToShirleysLuxuryHaven
& accidentally created one http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/rBtIZ after reading Heather's advice about subscribing to Atom feeds. Guess I didn't quite understand that part.
All 4 didn't work for me. Now, I'm stuck with the last new feed & have no idea how to remove it from my feedburner.
HELP!! Really appreciate
Problem: I have photographs on my blog which are large in size. When the feeds are imported into FB Fan Page using this method, the images show up only 'half' as the other half hides behind the right sidebar. This looks ugly. Is there a better way to import the blog posts without this problem occurring?
ReplyDeletegreat job bro..thanks for sharing your info
ReplyDeleteHi Aneesh,
ReplyDeleteI have a two part question, first when I import my blog to my face book page, how can I avoid importing all the content of blog to my face book account. I want to keep the two separate. Do you suggest that I create the page under a different email account or can I keep them separate under same email account. Also last time when I tried creating a page and tried importing the blog, it only imported 25 posts from my blog out of 75 posts that I had published. Please help.
Thanks. Surekha
I did creat a facebook page for my blog, however I am not able to import my blog to facebook, I have tried various url and it keeps giving me error message "Import failed" Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteThanks. Surekha.
Realy helpful band easly accesable information...
ReplyDeletei guess the widget is not existing in FB any longer....pls help...the info eeds to be updated
ReplyDeleteVery disappointed. To do these things, you MUST have a personal FB profile. I don't want one.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, I created a fan page for my site. But when I make posts on my fan page, it does not show up on the fan's news feed. Do you know why?
ReplyDeleteA really useful and helpful post mate! you covered it totally well.
ReplyDeletehello.....i just finished reading aaaaaaaaaall of these comments....here are my questions:

ReplyDeleteDEAR ADMIN,
ReplyDeletehow to redirect a blog page to other website. i mean when we click the tab in the manu for pages, the tab will redirect to other website.
I am stuck on step 4(b). I don't see the "Blogger Plugins Demo" when I click on my fan page. I was able to complete step 4(a) but the next step doesn't show up on my page. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteHere is the page link if that will help you see what I'm talking about:
http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti/?fb_page_id=116595835093280
@Melanie - Once you have authorized the app, click on the "Couponing" link on the left..
ReplyDelete@Aneesh - I did that (several times) and it still doesn't show. I even looked under both tabs in the middle of the page (feeds & fan page settings) but it's not there either. I'm sure it is operator error, but I desperately need a fan page for my blog :)
ReplyDeletethank you so much for trying to help me with this - you are an extremely giving person to help everyone so much and you are just so kind! I truly appreciate that I found your blog today!
Any other ideas?
@aneesh - oh, also....i left a comment on another page that you can ignore and not answer. It was regarding putting the FB "like" button on your blog posts and I asked how to move it to the top of the page. After I looked again though, I noticed that your instructions CLEARLY said they were to put the button at the bottom of the posts, so that is perfectly fine. I just didn't look at the fine print, but didn't want you to spend any more of your time answering my silly questions!!! Thanks!
ReplyDelete@aneesh - back to the FB fan page question - does it look like I authorized the app properly? Maybe I missed something there? Just a thought...
ReplyDelete@Aneesh - I think maybe I figured out what I did wrong but don't know how to fix it. When I first clicked on the type of page (Brand or Product), I think I missed the next step or either chose something wrong. I can now clearly see that I missed that part, but now I can't figure out how to go back to that step without deleting the page and starting over. Is that what I should do?
ReplyDeletethanks,
Melanie
@Melanie - i don't think you have gone wrong there, but i cant point out where exactly you went wrong. :( . i don't know what you are seeing on screen. btw i had already replied to your query on the like button post.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! That was a lot of help!! :D

ReplyDeletehey!your article is amazing... i want to know if you know how a page can be created for a blog by keeping the option of personal blog instead of website? reply asap.thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post, it was extremely helpful
ReplyDeleteIs it still working? since FB sux nowadays.
ReplyDeleteHey I have a question... Well If I create the fan page on facebook while I am on my personal facebook acount will my friends able to see that I have a blog? or even that facebook fan page? because I don't really want them to know :P And will my readers be able to find me on facebook?
ReplyDeletethanks :)
well actually im not sure, but ya ur friend will see that u have a blog.
ReplyDeletei just try that myself when i read this post(i just add my personal facebook from my Blog's facebook) and ya, we still can find fanspage in your Info page, beside that all your automatic post on fanspage will appear in your personal facebook home (all your friend will read that) :D
so I think you need to create a facebook for your blog, so readers will still find you on facebook when you install the facebook plugin in your blog =)
i hope that help, and sorry for late replay, i just open my mail now :P
Ah this page is great!
ReplyDeleteTotally helped me!
Great information and very detailed but simple to understand :)
x
Help me with one question please, in the end of this post you displayed your Facebook Like box, I can't seem to find that one. Can you tell me which is the name of that social plugin ?
ReplyDeleteThanks again

ReplyDelete
