By blog statistics, i meant the number of blog posts and number of reader comments on your blog. The blog statistics widget displays the total number of posts and the total number of comments made on your blog as a beautiful sidebar widget.
This widget works using javascript ( the json feeds) which finds the number of comments and posts from your blogs feed..
To get a blog statistics widget you can use this widget installer. When you use the widget installer make sure that you dont add the http:// part to the url because it is automatically added by the widget installer..Also don't add a slash at the end of the url

when I firstly install it with a slash at the end of my website url, it shows 4 things:
ReplyDeleteTotal Posts :73
Total Comments :1476
Total Posts :15
Total Comments :1
haha.So I removed it and try to install it again without a slash at the end of url. Then it works perfect now!!! Wow. Thanks you.

@Zac, thanks for letting me know.. that was a lil problem with the widget intaller,
ReplyDeleteEvery time you click the customize button,it used to do
value=oldvalue+the script..
Now i have fixed this thing to value=script..
So it should work fine..:)
Actually http:// shouldn't be entered and the trailing slash shouldn't be entered..But as most users commit mistakes on this,i have added some error checking codes to the installer which automatically fixes these lil errors made by the user.. ;)
thanks , nice widget
ReplyDeleteThe widget hasn't been updating my comments for about a week now. It updates added posts, though, so I know that part is working.
ReplyDelete@J.J. in L.A.
ReplyDeletethis widget won't count comments using Js-Kit or others. This one just counts the native blogger comments.
Ah! Okie dokie. : )

i like this widget a lot but it is giving me incorrect stats - how can i correct that?
ReplyDeleteIt's also started giving me incorrect stats :( Last week I had over 1,000 comments and now it says 231. It also stopped counting my total posts at 330 -- I have 341. How do I fix this?
ReplyDeleteI just wish you also post the code. There are people who still uses the classic template ya'know.
ReplyDeleteThank You

ReplyDeleteGreat widget Very easy to do and looks great thanks
ReplyDeleteWidget looks good - I almost cringe at the idea that it might be construed as the old school traffic counter from the old days of websites; however, as long as you keep your blog up to date with fresh & compelling content for users to reply to you, all the better!
